Winter’s Tale – The Frost Fair (165g Tin Candle)

Step into a Victorian winter wonderland with The Frost Fair. Inspired by the frozen Thames of 1814—when Londoners gathered on the ice beneath lantern light and frost-kissed trees—this candle captures the crisp thrill of winter air warmed by mulled wine, cinnamon bark and festive spice. A true opening chapter to the Winter’s Tale collection, designed to transform any space into a cosy seasonal sanctuary.
Hand-poured in England using our 100% natural wax blend, this 165g tin candle brings British winter heritage to life with a clean, even burn and a beautifully atmospheric fragrance.

The Story

Chapter I: “The Frost Fair”
Mulled wine, cinnamon bark, frozen Thames air
The winter of 1814 brought such bitter cold that the Thames froze solid for the first time in living memory. But where others saw hardship, enterprising Londoners saw opportunity. Within days, a magical marketplace bloomed upon the ice—the Great Frost Fair.
Merchants erected stalls selling roasted chestnuts and steaming mulled wine, their spiced aromas dancing on the frozen air. Children skated between the booths whilst their parents marvelled at this temporary winter wonderland. The scent of cinnamon and cloves mingled with the crisp, clean smell of the frozen river, creating an olfactory memory that would warm hearts for generations.
As evening fell and lanterns flickered to life across the ice, the fair took on an almost mystical quality. This was London transformed—a city where the impossible had become beautifully, fragrantly real.

Excellent book for students trying to grasp PTSD
As a professor teaching post traumatic stress reaction to graduate and undergraduate students, I was looking for a book that hit the basics along with some key pieces regarding assessment, diagnostic criteria, and examples that highlighted some of the subtleties associated with complex trauma. This book is well organized and not too overwhelming for people new and beginning the field and a nice refresher for seasoned clinicians. Easy to read, clearly outlined to build upon each subject, I found it both a solid read, affordable, and made it a required read for my course. Please note that I purchased this book way back October 12, 2013 but only now getting to put my thoughts in writing.

Great interventions and Trauma Theory
Format: Paperback
This a great book if you work with victims of trauma and want to understand how different types of trauma can present and what interventions can be used (i.e urge surfing, cognitive restructuring, focus breathing, etc.). It also include a section about medications and what to address first in treatment. I think it’s great for new clinicians who may be looking for interventions to add to their clinical toolbox.
