______________

John Fawcett (1740-1817) died just over two hundred years ago in the summer of 1817. Born in the winter of 1740, he witnessed first hand some of the remarkable scenes of the Evangelical Revival and the preaching of men like George Whitefield (1714-1770) and John Wesley (1703-1791). Fawcett was vitally involved in theological education and nurture and care of the various Baptist causes in Yorkshire and Lancashire, being the the prime mover in the revitalization of the Baptist Association in these two northern counties. He was a prolific author and hymn-writer. One of his books, An Essay on Anger, deeply impressed the British monarch George III (1738-1820), and his most famous hymn, "Blest Be the Tie That Binds," is still being sung widely.

______________

‘How important is the subject of what Christ means to those who believe?John Fawcett gives us,in his introductory comments,,the answer to that question-"...love to the Divine Redeemer is the distinguishing characteristic of a real Christian." The author wrote this book in the 1700's.How shocked would he be if living in our generation where books have been written and many Churches teach that subjection to Christ as Lord(from those who profess to know him)is taught as being optional.I'm sure he would have earnestly contended against such teaching-"True faith in Jesus Christ,is attended with subjection of heart and life,to his will and government." Fawcett also unites faith in Jesus with love for Him.He boldly asserts-"Talk not of your faith in Jesus,if you have no love to Him." Did not our Savior Himself teach-'He who has my commandments, and keeps them-he is the one who loves me.' What God has joined together, let no man put asunder(one places their soul in harms way)if they try to rent what God has inseparably united…This edition of John Fawcett's valued work is complete and unabridged. There is an edition published by 'Create Space Independent Publishing' which contains the first two chapters. This shorter version makes an excellent handout to give to those who profess love for the Savior but perhaps that love has waned or even waxed cold. This book can be used to stir up increased love for our worthy Lord and King.’ Joseph J.Adrian

Work casual shirt that travels well:
Size: Large, Color: Dusty Blue, Size: Large, Color: Dusty Blue
This shirt runs true to size with a bit of room for more. The material is a bit stretchy which helps keep the shirt looking great without major wrinkles. The shirt itself is comfortable and feels like it'd last through many washes and the care instructions are fairly simple (cold wash and low dryer). This particular color is unusual and compliments many outfits. Given the quality, this is a high value item. Just go easy with the iron.

Gorgeous blue color, fits me very well, nicely made and comfortable
Size: Large, Color: Dusty Blue, Size: Large, Color: Dusty Blue
I'm 6'1" 180lbs, sleeve normally 34" and neck 16", and this fits me pretty much perfectly. The material looks really good, I find this particular shade of blue (pattern) to just look really cool. Slightly darker than a typical men's blue shirt, with a slight bit of sheen. Its a medium thickness fabric, not flimsy feeling at all. I find this comfortable. Its smooth to the touch although I always would wear an undershirt personally. Claims to be Italian design? The cut to me seems to be a very standard look, no frills but "sharp" to my eye. The packaging did a good job of protecting the shirt, though it did show up with some extra creases. But that doesn't really matter since it would have needed an ironing before first wearing it regardless. And I do appreciate that the packaging was not excessively wasteful of plastic etc. I haven't worn it a zillion times yet so I can't comment on longevity. Given the price around 22 bucks I'd say this is a good value. Not sure why this color was slightly more expensive (10%) than white or regular blue. Surprisingly good shirt for the price
Fit Type: Regular Fit, Color: White, Size: XX-Large
I’m generally pleased with my purchase. I got a 2XL because the website it would fit my neck. Around the waist it fit similar to Amazon Essentials work shirts (like mechanics use which I find comfortable). It was snug around the waist when sitting, but I can’t complain because I have a belly. I did find the neck snug when buttoning the top button so it means the neck is 18 or 18.5 and I wear a 19/19.5 to have 1-2 fingers space in the collar. The shirt is surprisingly thick like Amazon’s work shirts, much thicker than other dress shirts from another brand. And I am pleased that this shirt has button holes like other Amazon shirts does, all vertical button holes except the last one at the bottom which is horizontal. That feature keeps the shirt from unbuttoning itself during daily movement at the office. A very nice feature! I was a little disappointed in how it was packaged however but I have to press and wash it anyway.
