German Cigarette Book-This cigarette book dates from 1932/1933. It is titled “Deutesche Uniformen: Das Zeitalter Friederick des Grossen or German uniforms: The age of Frederick the Great. It is published by Sturm Zigaretten of Dresden as were many of these collectible books. The book contains approx. 240 collector cards (cigarette cards) that detail the uniforms from the 18^th century Prussian age. These are illustrated with text written by Dr. Martin Lezius.  It is interesting that the Sturm cigarette company was owned and sponsored by the SA, and revenues from the sales of cigarettes help fund them. These cards were also terrific propaganda tools for the party. This book wasn’t stored very well, there was some damage to the back cover of the book and it shows some rippling. There are some age spots to the white cover, but the pages inside and the cards are very clean, though slightly rippled. This is a fun book to look through, especially if you are interested in early Prussian uniforms.
