Pierre Charpin wijdt zich sinds het begin van de jaren negentig aan het ontwerpen van meubels en objecten. Zijn benadering van design wordt sterk beïnvloed door zijn artistieke achtergrond. Pierre's onderzoek naar vorm en kleur karakteriseert zijn werk en is te zien in zowel producten in beperkte oplage als industriële producten zoals de pc-lamp. Het gebruik van een eenvoudig vocabulaire en elementaire vormen is een constant aspect in zijn werk, evenals de wens om sensuele objecten aan te bieden. De stukken van Pierre Charpin zijn opgenomen in museumcollecties over de hele wereld. Hij werd verkozen tot Designer van het Jaar 2017 bij Maison & Objet. Hij woont en werkt in Parijs.
