Natural volcanic stone like you’ve never seen.

From fire comes finery. Mexican Cantera translates to “quarry,” a stone that has been treasured throughout history. From ancient Aztec structures to the cathedrals of San Miguel de Allende and Mexico City landmarks, this rock can be found in the buildings that matter most throughout the country. Zia’s Cantera stone tile features an endless array of earth-toned aggregates in seven covetable shades.

With seven earthy color tones ranging from grey to brown to pink to black, there is a Cantera color for anyone and any project. While consistent in overall tone and shape, each stone tile displays a one-of-a-kind presentation of aggregate, with depth and detail in each individual mark formed over time from nature’s strongest forces.

Proper installation and protection of Cantera stone is key, so please ensure you work with an installer who has experience specifically installing and sealing stone tile, and who has carefully reviewed Zia’s installation guide so they may best follow each step in the process.

How It’s Made
We have the earth to thank for the abounding beauty of our Cantera stone tile collection. Formed over millions of years from volcanic rock and ash, Zia’s Cantera is quarried and cut in Mexico, where the material is found naturally and has been a staple in architecture for thousands of years. As with all natural stone, no two tiles are the same; each exhibits unique aggregate while blending seamlessly with surrounding tiles for totally timeless installations.

A fun, comic style book
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
My fourth grader really enjoyed this book and asked if it was a part of a series. We didn't sit down and read it in one setting and usually when that happens we forget to come back and finish a book..... But she didn't forget about this one. Will probably reread it in the future too. The pages are nice quality and the colors are bright. The print is a little bit on the teeny side; But that's pretty typical in comic style print. We were really happy with it! I think a kid as young as second or third grade could also enjoy this book if they are reading skills are a little on the stronger side. I've sat with 5th graders who would read it this level too.

Fun read
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Kids had fun reading this book. My 7 year old thought it was lot of fun. My 11 year old thought the story had few holes where people and events were happening without any explanation. But overall, both had fun reading it. The book is made really well - it's beautifully illustrated and printed well. The behind-the-scene look at the how the characters were drawn was really neat as well.
