The vines dig their roots into thin Kimmeridgian clay-limestone topsoil, which imparts a distinctive minerality to the wine. Domaine Gruhier ferments this Pinot Noir with 20-30% whole clusters, a technique that enhances the wine s structure and fruit expression. Following fermentation, the wine ages for 8-11 months in a combination of 228L and 400L barrels, some of which are new. Expect a vibrant and mineral-driven Pinot Noir unlike any other in Burgundy. This is a wine for adventurous palates seeking a unique expression of the grape.
