COMP Cams Valve Locks 630-100 Most people believe that the tang inside a valve lock holds the retainer and valve spring in place while the engine is running, but this isn't the case. The cross-section of material in the tang is not strong enough to withstand open spring loads of 1000 lbs. or more. The sole purpose of the tang is to temporarily locate the lock, retainer and spring relative to the valve until the taper of the retainer can nest around the outside surface of the lock. This creates a collet effect that binds the two together. The more spring force exerted on the retainer (as the valve opens), the more force applied by the collet effect to keep the retainer and lock in place. With the emergence of valve sizes other than the standard 5/16", 11/32" and 3/8", it is important to make sure the valve locks match the valve size. There should always be a small gap between the two halves of the lock when they are properly positioned on the valve stem. If the two halves fit together without a gap, they are too large. If the locks fit tight to the stem and leave a gap between the middle of the lock and the O.D. of the stem, the locks are too small. Our line of stock replacement 7 valve locks for stock engine rebuilds are recommended only for street applications with lighter valve spring loads and are stamped and hardened for superior wear resistance. Also available are machined 7 locks and titanium Super 7 Locks for some applications. They offer the same valve spring location accuracy as our Super Locks without the need to change to 10 degree retainers. Does the job, easy use, a bit bulky not exactly as described

Bare wire can be intolerable to work with. Banana plugs make a positive secure connection. These plugs are a touch bulky. Nice to not have to deal with small screws. Use as large of gauge wire as possible. The description says no unintentional disconnections. I beg to differ the bite of teeth aren’t as good as described. Used a 16 gauge pure copper speaker wire and a teenager taught me how secure the wire really is by tugging on the wire not the banana plug pulling the wire free. It does the job, it’s not the latest and greatest. If you need easy get these. If you want slim secure banana plugs buy the small screw type.

Fully gold plated inside and out! I initially got the amazon basic connectors for the same price, but was disappointed in the tiny burgundy positive label they had. It was also very dirty inside the connector and it wasn’t gold plated through out the connector. These are excellent in quality and have a bright red ban on the connector! You wont be disappointed and beats out Sewell connectors for the price!

Decent, but be careful of frequent use.

The looks are very nice, functional if left alone once assembled. After that I would leave them alone otherwise you risk the main male portion just coming loose of the housing, sound quality is decent, nothing to write home about, but again, not very durable. If they could fix that 1 thing, these would be very good buy and value, the rest of each plug is hefty and well made.

Fantastic speaker plug at a great price!
Size: 5 Pack, Pattern Name: Banana Plugs
This is a product that gets the job done effectively, and at a good price. Banana plugs are used to clean up speaker wire - you can generally screw in speaker wire, but banana plugs provide a nice interface that allows you to plug in and remove speaker wire as needed.
These closed plugs do a good job terminating / hiding the wire. They fit very well into various components and amps that I own.
INSTRUCTIONS to install / use them:
* Remove around 1" - 2" of the white casing to expose the red and white individual speaker wires
* Strip each wire so ~1/2" metal is showing
* Make sure the plug end is screwed in tightly (this does not need to come out)
* Unscrew the base of the plug from the other end
* WithOUT twisting the metal wiring, insert the wire (match wire color with plug color; start with either one) from the bottom of the plug until the metal sticks out the top
* Have ~1/4" metal hanging past the plug
* take the wiring and drape it down the sides of the plug (just the smooth side, do NOT cover any of the screw threading or it will be very hard to close it)
* Spread the draped wiring around the plug as evenly as possible (makes it easier to screw in later)
* Screw the two ends of the plug back together (the side with the draped wiring will go inside the plug)
* If you get stuck while screwing it back in, unscrew and adjust the wiring
* Repeat for the other side, and you're done!
